As the world accelerates its transition to green energy, the development of large-scale wind farms has become a global priority.
This case study focuses on a major onshore wind power base located in a region with exceptionally rich wind resources. This “New Energy + Ecological Governance” project is a benchmark in smart energy, featuring a total installed capacity of 100 MW and a 30,000 kW / 2-hour electrochemical energy storage system.
- Comprehensive Wireless Coverage: The network had to provide 100% high-speed wireless coverage in complex, signal-obstructing environments, specifically from the wind turbine nacelle (at the top) down to the tower base.
- High-Bandwidth for Smart Operations: The solution needed to support data-intensive applications, including 4K video surveillance for security and real-time data backhaul from intelligent inspection sensors.
- Seamless Roaming: O&M personnel using handheld terminals required seamless Wi-Fi roaming as they moved throughout the turbine and the farm, with no connection drops.
- Extreme Reliability & Redundancy: As a critical power infrastructure, the network must run 7×24 without interruption. The requirement was a dual-ring redundant fiber optic backbone with a network failover and self-healing time of less than 20 milliseconds (≤20ms).
